Save the Harbor / Save the Bay is a non-profit public interest environmental advocacy organization whose mission is to restore and protect Boston Harbor and Massachusetts Bay for everyone to enjoy. While clean water is at the core of our mission, much of our work involves finding ways to connect our communities, and especially our young people, with Boston Harbor and the Sea.
Working with local \"friends\" groups we also sponsor free events and activities on the region's public beaches from Nahant to Nantasket. For more information on fun things to do on Boston Harbor, please visit our Boston Harbor fan page on Facebook.
Last year our free summer youth programs connected 7,800 young people to Boston Harbor and the Boston Harbor Islands.

Throughout its history, the Boston Gay Men’s Chorus has infused itself into the GLBT community of Boston and reached out into the political, social and arts arenas. The Chorus has distinguished itself by performing for most AIDS service organizations in the area; Human Rights Campaign events; various events during Pride Week in Boston; the Fenway Men’s Event The Chorus has created innovative collaborations with organizations including Greater Boston PFLAG, GLSEN Boston, AIDS Action Committee, and more. The BGMC also supports GLBT youth with a high school outreach program.
Each year the BGMC donates more than 300 tickets to gay and lesbian student organizations and to people living with HIV. The Chorus also donates tickets and CDs to support dozens of Boston area non-profit causes. Through its history, the Boston Gay Men’s Chorus has donated an estimated $250,000 back to the community.

Arthritis Foundation: Joints In Motion
Runners Wanted!
The Arthritis Foundation is recruiting runners to participate in the ING New York City Marathon (http://MANewYorkCity.kintera.org/) and the Walt Disney World Marathon & Half Marathon (http://MAdisneyworld.kintera.org/).
Participants on the Joints in Motion teams raise valuable funds to prevent, control and cure arthritis- the nation’s number one cause of disability.

The Lead Gift Shop Volunteer overseas the operation of the WGBH Headquarters retail shop, located in the lobby of WGBH's studios at One Guest Street in Boston's Brighton neighborhood.
Qualifications
• Previous experience with customer service required
• Experience managing retail operation helpful
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
• Familiarity with computers and cash/credit handling and procedures.
• Must be able lift up to 20 pounds
• Must have ability to stand for periods of time and to use a small stepladder.
• May be asked to participate in CORI screening
• Must be at least 18 years of age; college experience preferred.
Requirements
• Schedule volunteers to staff the Gift Shop
• Train new volunteers to help out in Shop
• Run register and checkout merchandise
• Inventory product and stock necessary products
• Maintain display area; create new displays
• Greet customers and answer questions
• Price products
• Open and close shop
• Process memberships
Time Commitment
• Minimum of one year volunteer commitment
• Commit to two - three days per week; will need to be available for special events on evenings and weekends
