Boston Gay Men's Chorus Concert SeriesThe Boston Gay Men’s Chorus is one of New England’s largest and most successful community-based choruses. Now in its 26th season, the 175-voice ensemble is celebrated for its outstanding musicianship, creative programming, and groundbreaking community outreach. Under the dynamic leadership of Music Director Reuben M. Reynolds III, the BGMC sings a wide spectrum of classical and popular music with excellence and builds bridges to all people by providing a positive, affirming image of the gay and lesbian community. Each year the Chorus offers a subscription concert series of three programs, performed in the city’s most prestigious venues including Jordan Hall, the Cutler Majestic Theatre, and Symphony Hall. The Chorus is heard live by more than 12,000 people each season and thousands more through recordings and television broadcasts.
Boston Gay Men's Chorus Community Outreach ProgramThroughout its history, the Boston Gay Men’s Chorus has infused itself into the GLBT community of Boston and reached out into the political, social and arts arenas. The Chorus has distinguished itself by performing for most AIDS service organizations in the area; Human Rights Campaign events; various events during Pride Week in Boston; the Fenway Men’s Event The Chorus has created innovative collaborations with organizations including Greater Boston PFLAG, GLSEN Boston, AIDS Action Committee, and more. The BGMC also supports GLBT youth with a high school outreach program. Each year the BGMC donates more than 300 tickets to gay and lesbian student organizations and to people living with HIV. The Chorus also donates tickets and CDs to support dozens of Boston area non-profit causes. Through its history, the Boston Gay Men’s Chorus has donated an estimated $250,000 back to the community.
